Who We Are

We are social workers, educators, and family support workers who believe every family has the potential to thrive, no matter their resources.

DRUM Healthy Families Inc. (DRUM) is a non-profit home-visiting agency for families with pregnant women and children under the age of 5.

Our holistic program is designed to improve birth outcomes, promote self-sufficiency, and empower caregivers with young children to foster optimal child development.

What We’ve Accomplished

We make more than 2,900 home visits a year.

We've had a less than 1% infant mortality rate in the communities we serve since 1999.

How We Do It

Every family is assigned a support worker who visits families at the home regularly to:

  1. assess the child's development

  2. initiate family goal-setting

  3. train caregivers on the contributing factors of healthy families and birth outcomes

  4. provide tools for school readiness

Additionally, parents receive referrals, in-house programming, education, parent support groups, and life skills training to provide a strong foundation for their child to thrive.

“I was getting evicted from my house the same day of my initial home visit.  Ms. Cynthia Collins, my family support worker, gave me advice and encouragement and researched housing resources for me. We sat down together and talked about goals, family problems, and much more.  I have truly valued her support and patience ."
